My perspective on this one … Matt Gavin comes around Dan Del Bene, secures the ground ball and then goes low to avoid Tyler Makar. There is contact. Watch the attacking player’s toes. In slow motion, they are both on the ground and propelling him forward into the crease as he reaches around Liam Donnelly. … No goal.
Instinct there for the officials is to make a quick and authoritative call. Now in a perfect world, I’d love to see them come together for a second because if there was even a little doubt it would’ve been good to let it go into overtime and have the kids decide it there.
