Section 1 quarterfinals
No. 8 Mahopac (9-8) at No. 1 Fox Lane (12-4)
Outlook: The Indians are too dangerous to overlook when healthy and they can play a possession game with Christain Donahoe on the field. The Foxes are young and will have some nerves, but they need to jump ahead early.
Pick: Fox Lane 10, Mahopac 8
No. 5 Arlington (9-7) at No. 4 Wappingers (11-5)
Outlook: The Admirals need to grab momentum early and keep their Dutchess County rival at a safe distance. The Warriors only lost by three in the regular-season meeting.
Pick: Arlington 10, Wappingers 5
No. 6 North Rockland at No. 3 White Plains (12-4)
Outlook: Improvements have been made since these teams combined for 41 goals in a wild meeting back on April 10. Every possession counts, so limiting turnovers is going to be critical.
Pick: North Rockland 15, White Plains 13
No. 7 Suffern (11-6) at No. 2 Mamaroneck (10-6)
Outlook: The Tigers won 15-4 when these teams played two weeks ago. The Mounties have to take care of the ball and completely avoid penalties to have a chance.
Pick: Mamaroneck 12, Suffern 7
No. 9 Eastchester (9-7) at No. 1 Yorktown (12-4)
Outlook: Would you want to play a Huskers team coming off a humbling loss? The Eagles are going to have a hard time matching the skill and intensity levels.
Pick: Yorktown 16, Eastchester 4
No. 5 Hen Hud (12-5) at No. 4 Pelham (12-5)
Outlook: Lacrosse is a game of runs. This game is likely to go back and forth as both teams have multiple options capable of scoring multiple goals.
Pick: Hen Hud 14, Pelham 12
No. 11 Somers (7-10) at No. 3 Rye (12-5)
Outlook: It was a three-goal win for the Garnets when they met in Week 1, and Tyler Devito is back in the lineup for the Tuskers. Flip a coin.
Pick: Rye 9, Somers 8
No. 7 John Jay (10-7) at No. 2 Harrison (14-3)
Outlook: All three Huskes losses came against opponents who currently have at least 10 wins. Uh, oh. John Jay is playing with great momentum and is only getting better as time winds down.
Pick: John Jay 12, Harrison 8
No. 8 Hastings (11-6) at No. 1 Pleasantville (15-1)
Outlook: The Yellow Jackets are used to scoring piles of goals, but have not seen the likes of Jack Drillock and Oscar Marchi.
Pick: Pleasantville 10, Hastings 5
No. 5 Nanuet (12-4) at No. 4 Putnam Valley (12-5)
Outlook: The Golden Knights are not likely to produce more than a handful of goals against this defense, and have to be careful with each possession or risk playing too much defense.
Pick: Putnam Valley 10, Nanuet 5
No. 6 Haldane (12-5) at No. 3 Briarcliff (15-2)
Outlook: Do we know yet whether the Bears are capable of stopping a pair of talented scorers. Time will certainly tell if they can deal with Tucker Hine and Peter Hoffmann.
Pick: Briarcliff 15, Haldane 11
No. 10 Westlake (10-7) at No. 2 Bronxville (13-4)
Outlook: The Wildcats celebrated the program’s first playoff win already, but they have not seen a collection of talent like this.
Outlook: Bronxville 16, Westlake 6
