Just want to congratulate the boys at Mamaroneck and Bronxville on their respective victories. Although we are ardent rivals, we do agree on one thing; the bias north of 287 is coming to an end in lax. Yes, Yorktown and John Jay etc. are great, but the southern teams are now playing the the Island, Connecticut and Upstate at the youth level and wining. We all thought it would be girls that made the first moves, but hats off to the boys. Great team work. Respect the game.
Congratulations to Yorktown for winning the Section and to Coach Schurr and John Jay for an outstanding season.
Like two warriors, you went blow for blow and at the end, both fighters were bloodied and battered, but both left standing with your heads held high. It was one of those games where it’s a shame that someone had to lose but BOTH teams should be proud of having played in it.
#44- you are the epitome of “go hard or go home.” Your coaches, your teammates and the game get their money’s worth from you, that’s for sure! Good luck in States!
Gonna go pick up the paper, see if there is a story there
I’m pretty sure it was Luke Palmadesso who was guarding and forced Lambert’s ground ball, and Austin Fusco with the ground ball. It really was a dramatic moment with a short pole defender guarding a long pole on iso offense. Great game.
