Mahopac is tired of losing after dropping four in a row. Somers would like to regain some momentum after going through a particularly tough stretch. They meet tonight under the lights. I’m going to the game, so check my Twitter feed, I’ll post updates at they move along.
Putnam Valley and Hen Hud is another game with intrigue. They could also bump into each other in a couple of weeks once the Section 1 tournament gets under way. Leave a score, please, if you’re out watching or tweet at me and I’ll share.

In Rockland:
North Rockland over South is a big win for them. South’s season stature is now down to gaining an upset victory over Suffern…
I have to remark though, if the JN new internet subscription service is going to be succesful in Rockland, than this is the type of local interest high school sports contest that should have had a reporter attend.
For the small schools, the rankings go TZ, Nyack, Pearl River. TZ is a clear favorite in the upcoming end of season contests with their 2 rivals
dont think Nyack is a small school their an A school
Nyack is “B”. Don’t recall exact numbers but in BEDS numbers it is about 150 below TZ and just a little bigger than Pearl River which is in the “C” group for section playoffs.
rye 15 Pville 4 (if they are lucky)
Waste of Gas up to Pville. Rye would be better off scrimmaging there own team
Wow, that’s a prediction for ya! Can’t wait to see what the score really turns out to be.
Kennedy 12 Haldane 4
Kennedy is now10-2
Put Valley 5, Hen Hud 3 (half).
PV 5 HH 5. End of 4.
PV wins 6-5 in OT. Great game boys.
North Salem beat Carmel!!!! Gut wrenching win, the boys are looking good and have a shot to win sectionals. Go tigers!
Croton 12 Westlake 1
I wouldn’t go as far as saying they have a shot at winning sectionals just yet. They would have to beat Bronxville, Put Valley, Hen Hud, or Dobbs most likely if they were to reach the final and no offense to the Tigers but they just aren’t at the level of those teams. A win over Carmel is nothing to brag about since Carmel is only in its 2nd year as a varsity. I would like to see the Tigers win their league before saying they win the section and as of now Kennedy is the frontrunner to win that league.
Kennedy has already won the league because North Salem lost to Haldane and Kennedy swept them.
rye pleasantville score?
Johnny VandeVeerdonk really made it apparent the last two Put Valley games why he is going to be a Division I player. Two game winners in two OT games. Great job Johnny.
lax bro – LaxLessons.com reports Rye won 12-4.
Hey Laxadazical, I was close
Really May 3rd, 2012 at 3:54 pm
rye 15 Pville 4
FINAL
RYE 12 PVILLE 4
I hear Pville’s top 3 players banged up. with only 16 kids depth is a problem.
Randy & Sanja,
I’m a Kennedy fan from afar…But tell us why we should pay attention….I checked tonight, and they have played one team with a winning record (PV 7-5) and lost by 9.
I have said this before, I’m rooting for them – but please tell us what is going on there.
Geepers why are you a kennedy fan from afar? Bottom line is Keenedy plays the schedule boces gives them for the past 18 years and they have never won a league of did this well. I think people are shocked that coaching really makes a difference.
Sanja i couldn’t agree with you more. Kennedy is still building a program and it is not their fault that they don’t have as tough of a schedule as other teams. They would not be where they are today without the Savs. They are doing the best they can with what they have and who they play. Playoff time will show how big of a step this year was in building a good progran at Kennedy and depending on the bracket plays out they could make a run deep in sectionals.
I think it is great that the sport is growing throughout Section One, and it is wrong to disparage a 2012 winning program because they “play no one.” If each year they win more and more games within their league, and improve their game, they will eventually play with the power league teams. Have to start somewhere, right? Congratulations to the teams who are doing well.
Sanja, Because I am a Kennedy graduate – and a fan of the Savastano’s. Great job they are doing, so no surprise.
And BOCES doesn’t give you all 16 games – so stop with that. Lets keep it positive, good stuff going on there – looking forward to how they do in the sectionals.
