We all woke up to a new reality this morning.
The Journal News and LoHud.com have a new pricing structure, which essentially means we are no longer allowing unlimited access to our website. If you subscribe, you get full access to print and digital stories. If you do not have a subscription, you will only be allowed to view 20 stories at LoHud.com each month.
The blogs will remain wide open and free, at least for now.
It’s a not a new concept. The New York Times and Newsday have been utilizing similar plans for some time now because no media company is going to survive in a digital age by giving news away. If you subscribe to The Journal News, go to LoHud.com to activate your account. If you do not currently subscribe, here’s a link with the price schedule. You can get a full digital package, which is going to include Apps for the iPad as well as smartphones for $14.

Oh r u sure… How is it that THINK you know so much? What was your involvement in the program? Your libelous accusations are laughable, that is why I’m askin’ who you are since you claim to know all this “inside information.” What program do your kids play for now? Or not… I know many, many coaches personally and the past few commissioners and you are just dead wrong. How am I the bully? You are the one who just denigrated an entire program, 50 SUCCESSFUL years, in the making. Read One Wrong Turn above. What about the cheap shot on the Town goalie – was Pac’s intention to take him out of the game? Oh, please comment. You are a sad and bitter individual who clearly needs attention. And your “paying the coaches” comment is pathetic. Mike, can’t you do something about this loser?
And what are you teaching kids about throwing accusations around that have no basis in fact? Just like the media, throwing a bunch of crap at the wall, hoping something sticks.
hmmm – Frankie was moved to middie a few games ago. He’s been playing wing since then. Connor Vercruysse is now 3rd attack. But just ask “r u sure” – he knows everything about the team, him being “in the know” and all.
1st post on the lax blog-saw the clip of the kid slashing #25 and you are doing a disservice Mike by condoning it..( I’ve seen 6 times that happen this year) and each time that kid should be yanked by there own school for a 1 game ban
Suffern strength
I’m not condoning it, go read my comment again. Truth be told, lacrosse needs three sets of competent eyes to clean that kind of stuff up. And for those who can’t read between the lines, I’m talking about officials.
Ron paul and r u sure- Abe Lincoln once said “sometimes it’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.” So you know the Yorktown lax culture? If you’re not part of the program, how is it that you’re so knowledgeable about what’s being taught?
I have been in and around Yorktown Lacrosse for over 20 years both as a player and a coach and nowhere in my experience did anyone ever promote or condone cheap shots and I think your comments above where you indict the town with “majority of the families involved, lowers the standards of sportmanship and respect to a non existant level” are offensive and are the epitome of the very crap you seem to object too which makes you……………..…..a hypocrite.
You cannot judge the whole program based on the stupidity of this kid. And no coach would teach or condone this. Thats just ridiculous. But, a lot will be shown by the actions of the coach in response to the act. Will he be benched? We shall see.
My bad Mike read into it wrong…still uncalled for what this kid did
Your a bunch of tools you don’t even know Fusco and what Hea about.. Your pathetic for putting this up here
I will tell you this they did the same thing to Matt Bocklet on the wing in the sectional finals back in 2006. They whacked him in the thigh the very first play of the game and he had a dead leg for the entire game. This was also on the wing so dont tell me they dont teach that Sh——t. Karma boys JJ 10 town 5 sectional finals 2012
I hppe this is the end of this discussion on a lapse of judgement on a young man.Who puts all his heart and soul in every sprort he has played. For all who do not know him dont judge on one act im sure he regrets. He is a very respectful young man who loves his family and friends and coaches. He made a mistake maybe he was frustraded not having a great game. But how dare you think his coaches or anybody else think. That Yorktown condones what happen,i have been around Ytown 4 some time. And never has anyone condoned any thing that would hurt someone.Stay after game and see number 44 jump over fence and give all his family and friends a kiss on the cheek. He loves Yorktown and lacrosse and we who really know him know how he really feels about what happen. And if that was a parent who posted that shame on you.
if you are an adult, you are pathetic for criticizing high school kids by name and number on the internet.
and if you are a player, you know how much smack talk there is on the field, and you are a bitch for bringing it on to the blog.
there are players on every team who talk and play aggressively, its part of the game, and high school sports in general.
It’s funny because that kid was just soft and yeah he got slashed in the knee :’( about it like all you mahopac people do. A grown man has to do this to make himself feel better that’s actually hysterical and it’s funny how that kids soft and franks a savage and that kid will never be close to as talented as frank
Matt Bocklet poke checked/butt ended two kids in the balls that game.
LACROSSE IS A WONDERFUL GAME! IT embodies the best parts of many sports. If we are all adults, or aspire to be, lets stop the verbal attacks on each other as individuals, programs, and communities. Both Yorktown and Mahopac have quality programs, coaches, players and fans. Let us rise above this thuggery and make this ateachable moment.
As a fan, not a parent, it is my hope that the people in charge do what they feel is correct. Please stop attacking the kids. If the anger on this Blog is indicative of the discussions taking place with players and fans at home, then we are only fanning the fire. Please do not let an unfortunate incident ruin a great rivalry, game, and community.
hmmm censorship now? where were the filters when the Utube video was posted????
ron paul – ask you JJ coach, Tim Schurr, about the Yorktown culture in which he grew up – played YAC, HS and coached at Yorktown before Somers… I am sure he can set you straight.
