It’s kind of quiet in the wake of all the action yesterday, and the biggest game of the day is Clarkstown South and Tappan Zee. The fifth annual Hastings Tournament gets under way with Dobbs Ferry hosting Irvington and Hastings hosting Ardsley. It’s a nice gathering of rivals.
The golf assignments have piled up so I’m staying in the next couple of days, so please keep us in the loop if you’re out watching a game. You can always tweet at me, too, and I’ll share.

Some thoughts on the game I was watching … Yorktown played the best team game I’ve seen all year. Fusco and Gately dominated, but I had easily could’ve justified quoting any of a dozen kids. Those kids are playing with attitude, but holding each other accountable. … Danny Manning and Luke Palmadesso have to be on somebody’s most-improved lists. … Austin Graham still has some nervous moments in goal, but he also makes some big plays. … Somers didn’t have a lot of chemistry in the first half on either side of the field, but kept working and scored a couple of nice goals against the best defense in the section in the fourth quarter.

What best defense I dont think so!! JJ has the best defense.
In Rockland:
The South – TZ game. TZ will be mad after giving up a big 4th qtr lead to North Rockland. South will want continue its county winning streak. Their real big games remain against North Rockland and Suffern, but they shouldn’t overlook TZ.
TZ midfielders are its primary scoring threats. The South middies need just to so slow down these shots and South’s AA candidate goalie should routinely stop them. If South does this they should win, I’ll say 6-4.
Your kidding on best defense
Somers didnt have allot of chemistry because of Yorktown D.Also Ytown hiit allot of pipe in that game.Humm half those pipe go in not clos @ all..
