I really want to be in two places at the same time.
Yorktown might be the best team in Section 1, but the Huskers continue to look for a win over a team ranked among the nation’s best. Darien is coming in with an 8-0 record and is 20th on the Inside Lacrosse/Under Armour high school power rankings. Yorktown has gotten off to good starts in some big games already, but has not won enough faceoffs or finished enough shots to stay close down the stretch.
Mahopac is off to an 8-0 start, and is just getting into the most difficult part of the schedule. John Jay, Bronxville, Yorktown, Somers and Suffern are up next for the Indians after they finish up at Lakeland in a rematch of the Class A title game. Mahopac won 7-5. The Rebels are 6-3, but have not dropped a game to a Section 1 opponent.
And that’s where I’ll be tonight, so keep an eye on my Twitter feed.
There are some other games I’ll be keeping an eye on. Brewster will be at Hen Hud, which has to find some ray of sunshine in what’s been a grind. Rye needs to regroup, but I think Byram Hills can be a handful. Somers needs to be careful with Fordham Prep, which has a deceiving 2-7 record. Greeley showed promise early and Pleasantville is playing good teams close. Keio might be able to knock Croton-Harmon from the ranks of the unbeaten.
I’ll be throwing all the updates I can get on my Twitter feed, so follow along. Please leave a score on the blog if you’re out watching or tweet at me, and I’ll pass the news along.

Croton 11 Keio 3
Rye 6 Byram Hills 4
Slow start for BH in the 1st half. Rye dominated the 1st half. Its tough for any team let alone team like Byram with (long on athletes/short on lacrosse players) to turn the ball over as much as they do/have and win against good teams. After the Byram coach shortened his bench considerably in the second half, the game was more indictive of where the two teams are.
