Hen Hud really came out fast on Carmel, scoring 13 in the first half and then dialing it down. … I’m not looking to rain on anybody’s parade, but Arlington needs two or three more wins against established programs before it shows up on the radar of the Northern Westchester powers. And the league alignment that left the Admirals in with a bunch of teams struggling to be competitive isn’t going to help improve their situation.
Scoreboard
Hen Hud 17, Carmel 5
Briarcliff 13, Blind Brook 1
Ossining 8, Keio 2
Sleepy Hollow 11, Westlake 4
Arlington 8, Brewster 6
Harrison 6, Stepinac 4
Player of the Day
Hen Hud’s Mike McDermott had four goals and eight assists against Carmel. Sure it’s an expansion team, but eight assists is a haul.
Schedule
All games are 4:30 p.m. unless noted
Eastchester at Tappan Zee
Rye at White Plains, 4 p.m.
North Rockland at Byram Hills
Greeley at Scarsdale, 5 p.m.
New Rochelle at Clarkstown North
Game of the Day
I could go a couple of ways here. Eastchester at Tappan Zee should be really good, but I’m picking Greeley and Scardsale. And that’s where I’m heading later. Both teams lost good senior talent, but there’s enough back that they should have good seasons. Check the LoHud Lacrosse Twitter page for updates.

Why isn’t Rye v. White Plains the match of the day, If I had the afternoon free I’d be there
rye v white plains is only a scrimmage
Mike, should have picked Eastchester@ Tapppen Zee. Last season EHS soph heavy team beat JT jr heavy team in OT. Both should be improved EHS lost one senior, granted a scorer, and has looked good in scrimmages vs Ardsley, Nyack, and Fordham Prep.
Sleepy Hollow wins 11-4 vs Westlake…game was over by half time when SH took their foot off the pedal…I believe they play @ Briarcliff on Thursday at 445pm
briarcliff looks like the real deal look at there roster a lot of seniors and they all play look for them to have a shot to take class c
14-6 TZ win
Byram Hills 12-1 over North Rockland. Solid performance by BH Moved the ball better than the last few years and very well rounded attack. Defense played tough and Larrabee showed why he is probably the best goalie in the Hudson Valley.
oof, my bad, hope the Scarsdale game was better Mike…the Eagles did not look like the same team we’ve seen so far this spring. Good luck Tappen Zee, nice game.
Good start TZ.
I don’t think that Rockland lax is just Suffern and a bunch of nothing. TZ, South and Nyack should be competitive this season. TZ features a very good defense (Mark Paul), Nyack is strong at midfield (finally getting some of the football athletes to play lax) and South features perhaps the best junior goalie in the Section (Kris Alleyene).
Apparently, I have to reset the Twitter account to work with this blog. It’s on my list of things to do. Greeley was impressive this evening, beating Scarsdale 11-2. Alex Scott and Cody Ekstrom were really good.
*cory ekstrom
Byram came out real strong today.
mike dellon has the best dangles in section 1, watch out for that byram defenseman
since my Foxes didn’t play yesterday had chance to stop by bH game against NR. NR was overmatched for the most part, they lack numbers for one thing. I think they had a total of 15-16 players dressed. They got tired, it was close after 1 period 2-0. But the wheels began coming off thereafter.
BH was shaking off the rust themselves, lot of dropped balls , weak passes , etc. BH needs to work on groundballs as well too many soccer players using their feet instead of their sticks. That wont fly against PV this weekend.
Not sure you can crown the BH goalie the best in section 1 after one game (I think my Foxes goalie is probably better) since he probably faced between 4-5 shots through the first 3 periods. He’ll need to play big this weekend for BH to have a chance against PV.
BH-PV should be a good game.
Rye vs. White Plains
First off it was a “scrimmage” that being said White Plains has a lot of work to do. Rye’s defense is really good. 3 D-1 prospects White Plains never got within 20 yards of the cage. Rye has inexperence at midfield but time will only make them better. Rye could be the big suprise this year in class “A”. We will find out more week of April 4th when Rye plays both Jay and Iona Prep.
Rye vs. White Plains was a scrimmage. That being said Rye looked solid. Their starting “D” is shutdown with 3 D-1 players. I do not think any White Plains player got within 25 yards of the cage. Rye has youth that over time will be really good. I am lookinfg forward to the Jay and Prep matchups next week.
TZ much better than expected. Eagles played most of the game with only one starting midfielder and two ninth graders but no excuses, the Eagles were not going to win on this day. Good luck moving forward TZ you will have success. I know the Eagles will rebound and play competitive in the future.
