A couple more teams will open today, and I was actually going to watch Pearl River and Suffern, but a nasty virus is keeping me at home. If you’re at the game, please leave us an update. The Mounties will go into every game on that side of the river as the heavy favorite, let’s see how they handle it.
We’ve so far gotten 20 previews up on the blog and will continue to run any stragglers this week. I finally remembered to put a new poll up, vote. With any luck, we’ll get back a couple of Under the Helmet profiles soon.

Favorite, yes,.....I would not say heavy favorite. This is not Suffern hockey against the other Rockland county teams. I would expect them to get competitive games against Clarkstown South (who will be really good next year), TZ and Nyack.
For the other Rockland programs:
Nanuet – rebuilding after 3 very good seasons.
Pearl River – will need to build up midfield after graduating leading scorer Toal.
North Rockland – still young, perhaps a year away from getting back to the program that had good section success the last couple of years.
Clarkstown North and Albertus have not yet established a lacrosse culture. These are 2 very baseball oriented high schools.
i will reiterate mikes point of heavy favorite…14-2 suffern wins…you heard it here first
so thats what theyre callin not wanting to encounter the wall ball ballers nowadays…a virus?
suffern beat pearl river 14-2…soooo yeah im pretty good at guessing scores
i think that byram should be considered higher in this ranking especially because putnam valley has lost so much. it should be interesting to see what those boys can do, i could see them going far
sufffan …...calm down skippy you guessed one game
First day and no mention of Brewster game scheduled.
true it was only one but its probably gonna be the only one all year i get right so im gonna enjoy it
Byram is a great group of athletes but Putnam Valley still returns some very strong lacrosse players. What makes Byram that much different then any other year?
talking with some of the coaches who have scrimmaged PV they have brought me to believe that their name gave them the ranking not their skill, but saturday the 2 play so that should be the determining factor
