In the last few weeks I’ve seen a couple of the best lacrosse players in Section 1 throwing footballs around.
Maybe there is a precedent. I know a lot of lacrosse kids routinely play football, as well, but it just seems there are lots of strong quarterbacks this year with impressive stick skills. And most of them are playing for winning teams.
Here’s my list so far:
Conor Prunty (Lakeland)
Justin Mabus (Yorktown)
Michael Trapp (White Plains)
T.J. Foley (Mahopac)
Anthony Lombardo (Somers)
Brian Bauersfeld (Scarsdale)
The list might eventually include Jack Near of Bronxville, who’s recovering from shoulder surgery. Let me know if there’s anyone I left off.

Mike another point with the Lax/Football players are the key roles they play in both sports as QBs, RBs etc. and Midfield/FO playmakers! Just imagine what lacrosse would be like in the lower Hudson Valley if all of the Football athletes from New Ro., WP, Yonkers Schools played lacrosse (Lucas and Franklin with lax sticks watch out). I also heard that Chaminade Football is hurting this year because a large amount of players decided to play Fall lacrosse. Every year there are more Fall Lax tournamnents and teams, looks like another trend for the “Fastest Sport On Two Feet”
