There will be no shortage of story lines next week during the Section 1 finals. We’ve got some familiar and competitive matchups.
The games will be played at White Plains High School on Thursday.
Here’s the schedule:
Class A
No. 1 Yorktown vs. No. 2 Lakeland/Panas
5:30 p.m.
Yorktown is going for a 30th title
The Huskers won 11-8 on May 2
Class B
No. 1 Somers vs. No. 3 John Jay
8 p.m.
John Jay has won four in a row
The Tuskers won 10-7 on April 14
Class C
No. 1 Putnam Valley vs. No. 2 Rye
3 p.m.
Rye has won four straight championships
The Tigers won 15-9 on April 25

While standing on the sideline today at Panas … just kidding. There were actually very few complaints and quite a bit of contact. Nice job. Can we do something about the white shorts and black socks, though?
Well, as we expected I guess, next week figures to be worthy of all the Hype. Similar to the week before Super Bowl!

Hey Mike, do you happen to know why there were a few players from Mahopac with different helmets and jersies on? Most of the team had yellow helmets but a few had blue ones on. Were they just J.V. players that were called up or was there some sort of significance behind that? I didn’t notice it until after I was reviewing my photos a little while ago.
JV players got called up- don’t have the same helmets.

Just a correction, The Rye / PV game is at 3:30

The last one sided loss for Rye was in fact PV, Rye lost 15-9, but was close at times when PV took advantage of some D laps and scored. That was APRIL. I’ve seen every all the Rye game this year and I the Rye team that lost to PV is not the same Rye team we will see in the finals. Strive for 5! Let’s go Garnets.

Yorktown is taking the section 1 finals home with ease. Lakeland may claim they can taste victory but by the end of the first quater half the eam will be tasting there own blood and tears. It will be worse than last year and im debating on not even wasting my money

what happens when l/p upsets the mighty y’town. prob won’t happen but i’d love to see it
Somers by 4? They won by 3 last time. John Jay didn’t have Stewart(All-American) for most of the game and the Somers goalie had around 25 saves. Lets be realistic and say he won’t do that again. JJ will win by 4.

From what I understand the Goalie on the #1 team Yorktown didn’t make it? They only lost 2 games I’m sure he had to be pretty good Right….

If PV plays the way they played against BH this will be an ugly end to Rye’s title run. PV by 10 or more.
