It’s hard to knock the seeding process the way things are working out. We have the four top seeds in every class in the semifinals.
Things will get a little more interesting on Friday even though all of the games except for Bronxville at Rye is a rematch. We’ll firm up game times on Thursday at some point. There is a chance we could get some action under the lights.
Here’s the next round:

(Yorktown won the first meeting this season 17-4)
No. 3 Mahopac at No. 2 Lakeland/Panas, 4:30 p.m.
(Lakeland/Panas won the first meeting this season 8-6)
Class B
No. 4 Brewster at No. 1 Somers, 5:30 p.m.
(Somers won the first meeting this season 13-6)
No. 3 John Jay at No. 2 Greeley, 5 p.m.
(John Jay won the first meeting this season 20-11)
Class C
No. 4 Byram Hills at No. 1 Putnam Valley, 5 p.m.
(Putnam Valley won the first meeting this season 13-8)
No. 3 Bronxville at No. 2 Rye, 2:30 p.m.
(Did not play during the season)
(Updated May 28): Game times have been added to original post.
(Update May 28, 12:20 p.m.): Rye just called and said their semifinal vs. Bronxville will be a 2:30 start. In case you’re stuck in the office or at school, we’re planning to carry it live on LoHud.

Putnam Valley is making like a fetus and headin’ out on the field! lets go!
and then after we win, we’re gonna make like a banana and split!
So Byram should just make like an egg and beat it
As you saw in his first yorktown playoff debut, kevin spillane is not just about looking good. The kid knows how to play. Leading his team emotionally, and physically to a 21-1 victory over Arlington, Spillane finally revealed just how good a shot he has in his arsenal. According to the Yorktown Staff, his shot clocked in at a blistering 97.3 MPH. Not many kids these days have that kind of power anymore, it is truly a remarkable skill to have. As for North Rockland, well i truly feel sorry that they have to try and match up against the one man show, that is kevin spillane. I’ll expect at least 5 goals and 3 assists from the unstoppable force.
Love,

put valley grab the butter cus byrams on a roll
so much for bein da undadog…byram runs it and we da bastttt
f baby is gonna be cryingg on friday
The Bronxville vs. Rye game could be closer than many think. Rye beat the following teams that beat Bronxville: Iona Prep, Brewster and Byram Hills. Rye won these games 13-8, 8-6 and 8-5. Yet, all of these games were early in the season when Bronxville was working its younger players into its rotation.
Rye lost to the following teams that Bronxville beat: Hen Hud and Suffern. Bronxville won these games 10-6 and 10-8.
Both teams beat Scarsdale (14-7 for Bronxville (away) and 14-6 for Rye (home)). Both lost to Putnam Valley (18-12 Bronxville and 15-9 Rye), at Put Valley and on its funky turf.
I expect a competitive match pitting the up and coming Bronxville squad against the old pros at Rye.
Byram’s rugged good looks and excessive testosterone will lead them to victory.

PV`s studs stand with anyone in the looks department, in fact the PV Alumni feature a very successful Male model, he`s been seen in several national publications, you can even ask Mrs 12R. PV found their game again, big win for the Tigers tomorrow.
Broncodad,
Yes it should be a good game and good to see Bville program on the rise. Good for Section 1.
Much has been said by Bville supporters about its sophs.
Fair enough but Rye has some terrific sophs as well to go along with the Jrs and seniors. These kids have been getting better and better and more confident each game. Among other sophs, one of Rye’s top goal scorers is Jack O’Callaghan (M). As well there’s Matt McReddie (M),Briggs Barton (A), Garrett Chapman (M), Chris Boneventura (M/DM).
These kids were part of the JV team that only lost 1 or maybe 2 games last yr (def to Jay and I think a very close one to Town). Not sure if they played Bville?
We’ll see tomorrow.
Broncodad…I agree, tomorrow’s Bronxville-Rye match up may even be a coin flip. While the Garnets have a core of experienced players (four Empire State players plus a big transfer from Harrison), they also have a nice group of 3-4 sophomores playing key roles. IMO, Rye has improved over the season as these sophs have grown into their roles. Their key player tomorrow may be goalie Mike Linehan; if he’s “On”, he could be the difference-maker. Rye needs to put together four solid quarters tomorrow to hold off the Broncos. Should be a good one!
IMPORTANT – Rye vs Bronxville game TIME CHANGE. Game will start at 2:30 at Rye
What happened between the Pelham fans and the Byram Hills bobcat? I saw him rip of his head and become aggressive towards their fans, and then I saw the bobcat get yelled at by several Byram security guards.
Anyone know what grade McCormack #20 for Rye is? If he’s a senior which college is he going to?
mike this is off topic but when does the all section list come out
Cole is a junior
Go Kyle Schaub. Best thumbs in section 1!
go greeley tomorrow, cant wait to watch you play sugi baby.
love always,
your gf
Did Rye’s player from Harrison transfer in or move into the district? There’s a big difference, anyone know the specifics?
i am excited to see Greeley Vs. Jay because jay might of won the first meeting but now Greeley is a better and more complete team and i think they got a shot to win especially because its at home
yea it look like greeley got better with a 5-3 win to fox lane
hahahahaha “G” is right in that sense… but they have gotten better they played really bad and cocky against fox lane and they couldnt finish and had lots of turnovers but some teams get like that after not playing in a game for awhile and i think it will be a good game
They should go live for the Greeley vs. John Jay game, that would be absolutley awsome
SWLAX,
Transfer (pay to attend)or move in.
Whats your point?
glax-just go to the game and cheer your team on
SWLAX…the ex-Harrison player moved to Rye in the summer of 2008. He was also a two-way player on Rye’s state championship football team last fall, even scored a TD against Harrison. He is 100% legit if that’s what you’re getting at.
For Rye’s sake I hope he’s legit. I would hate to see them have to give up what they have accomplished in football and lacrosse and tarnish what the kids earned because this player moved in with his Aunt in Rye for a year.
The difference between a transfer and someone who moves into the district is in eligibility. A transfer or tuition student who does not reside in the district has to sit out a year and is not allowed to participate in any sports (or else you’ld have kids transfering and paying tuition to public schools to be on a better team). If the family moved into the district, different story, the kids are able to play, no restrictions. But you also can’t send a kid to go live with Grandma for a year, that is also against State rules.
I only ask because I wouldn’t put it past Rye (not the lacrosse coaches) to do something like that. They have in the past with a few Port Chester kids in football, but whatever it takes to win, right? Perhaps that is the problem that some people have with Rye…
Both games in C will be closer then expected. Bronxville is a very capable team and will give Rye a run for their money. Byram Putnam Valley is quickly becoming a great rivalry as this is an exact rematch from last year. We all know that rivalries usually end up in great games.
Good luck to all today
Broncodad,
Sophs for Rye. In my comment to you above I inadvertently left out another really key Soph, Michael Collins who has been a major contributor from the season’s start at long pole.
SWLAX…the kid from Rye is 100% legitimate. Your idle speculation is very irresponsible since you obviously don’t know any of the facts. If there was any question about his legal residency he wouldn’t have been able to play football last fall for such a high-profile and successful program.
Laxman-
You seem to be very much on the defensive for something that is 100% legit. And it’s a blog, not an inquisition, and I’m not going to tell you to relax, that would be rude, but maybe don’t get so fired up. Your football rational holds no water, Rye has done it before. As high profile and successful as Rye’s football program is and has been, do you really think that someone wants to cry foul formally and on the record? It is about the kids, and no one wants to see any of them sit out or the rest of the players get punished because of poor choices made by adults. People outside of Rye are aware of what goes on, and all that I am saying is that perhaps that is why some people feel angst and share their displeasure towards Rye.
I don’t know any of the facts on this particular case, you’re right, that’s why I asked. Rye has not always been on the straight and narrow, and if you think that they have been, then I don’t know what to tell you, ask around.
Best of luck to all playing in today’s game, I hope the weather holds out! Glad that the Rye B’Ville game is online and early, gives me something to watch at work before heading out to see another game!
‘ey y’all I guarentee that that Byram Hills team is gonna be victorious in this Jihad because they have a secret weapon…
That weapon, for those who are wondering, is none other than:
BASIR KHAN HIYUE.
LETTY NARDONE signing off.
f-baby isnt crying tonight baby!!!!! woooo PV wins 17-3 hahah not even close byram
SW Lax please detail you comment re:”Rye has not always been on the straight and narrow” When you as good as Rye you make sure your players are legit. Because there are always empty headed fans looking to stir something up. Just to make sure all was “legit” the student who moved to rye with his family had to sit out the 1st football game vs Pville after a bogus phone call was made as the district wanted to make sure things were good. Sour Grapes does not look good on you SW.
Garnet Grad-
Detail would give not only Rye, but all of Section 1 a black eye, so I’ll pass. But thanks for the material, I see now that they’re also fraudulent in awarding diplomas.
SWLAX,
Do you have one single fact to back up your accusatory innuendoes and totally unfounded allegations? You readily admit that you “don’t have any of the facts on this particular case” (which, by the way, there is no “case”), but then you also comment that “Rye has done it before”...”People outside of Rye are aware of what goes on”...”Rye has not always been on the straight and narrow”. You don’t cite one single, fact-based shred of “evidence” supporting your irresponsible allegations. I strongly suggest, therefore, that you don’t have any facts…just a severe case of JOR syndrome: Jealous of Rye.
Good to see and not surprised that no Bville fans joining in with SWLAX.
But is their anyone within the Bville lacrosse community that knows this person that can try and shut him down on this subject???
I’m not taking light of the general subject but THIS CASE PARTICULAR CASE SHOULD BE CLOSED!!!!
JOR? Rye would have a pompous acronym for itself. Thanks for making my point for me. Is there a Gestapo in Rye that ‘shuts people down’ when they ruffle a few feathers? No names have been dropped, no people singled out, nor will there be for the satisfaction of a few angry bloggers as ‘evidence.’ If not wanting to put high school kids names on a blog gets me bashed from here to kingdom come, then I can live with that.
SWLAX…the simple fact is that you don’t have any facts. You started this debate when you questioned the legitimacy of a Rye player when, by your own admission, you “don’t have any of the facts on this particular case” (which, again, I must reinforce that there is no “case”). You then threw out a string of unfounded charges and allegations about Rye having a history of using illegal players…but won’t (i.e. can’t) support them with any facts because you’re too “noble” to give Rye and Section One a black eye. Isn’t that “big” of you. You’re a jealous fraud hiding behind an anonymous screen name. Maybe next week you can cry “Fire” in a crowded movie theatre to see if you can stir some more things up. That’s about your speed.
Keep it coming, I love it. Calling me names now too, it doesn’t get any better than this. Guess I really hit a nerve!
SWLAX,
Your 15 minutes are up. Have a nice summer.
