Iona Prep’s Nick Trizano and John Jay’s James Whalen will both be playing lacrosse at Drexel.
But the similarities end there.

wow KI to Drexel!
i dont think that ki commited. he cant even be contacted yet.
Whalen commited not KI
Ki is only a junior
Kevin Interlicchio has not committed to any college.
The article I linked that appeared today in The Journal News and LoHud.com is about Nick Trizano (Iona Prep) and James Whalen (John Jay) committing to Drexel. “Here’s that link again.”:http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080811/SPORTS06/808110334/-1/SPORTS
Hope that clears that up.
there is a picture that says that Nick Trizano and KI will be teammates next year at drexel.
haha i dont think KI will be going to Drexel…
After KI who in his class will be the biggest recruit? Who are some possible names?
Interesting list of schools for Moffa. I think he will be a steal for ne of them
Tropic, Somers had eight underclassmen starting last year and a bunch of them made the next to last ESG cut. Looking at the poll results, one name that comes to mind is Greg Petre. Maybe some Somers folks can provide the other names. Not sure about other teams in the section. I know John Jay has Mike Daniello but he was a freshman not a sophomore this year.
Tropic
Brandofino from Pac comes to mind. ESG attackman as a sophmore
Joe what about doughtery? It said on another blog that he was going into his junior yaer but i am almost 100% certain that was wrong and he is going into his senior year. Is he being recruited ?
AA next year will very intresting, With all these players doing well in empires it will make it nice to to see who gets it. 3 spots are already taken and that is
Doherty
JOJO
Ranagan
Mike B
Haggerty
Keo
Perrelle
KI mabey?
Doubt two goalies will get it plus Haggerty’s team is horrible.
2009 AAs
JoJo
Ranagan
KI
Mike B
Keough
Fennessy
Dougherty
Perrelle
What does everyone think?
Let’s not be like the section coaches and forget we get NINE (9) *AAs not eight
2009 AA’s
JoJo
Ranagan
Mike B
Doherty
Perrelle
Fennessy
Katchis
Stewart
Brandofino
Haggarty is an amazing goalie and did great at empires but he will not got get AA due his team not being good at all.
Um …
Marasco
Ranagan
KI
Shane Warner
Fennessy
Keoh
Will Stewart
Mike Daniello
Ben Litwak
Realdeal99..no offense but your list is a joke…i don’t see how you could possibly say a kid like Daniello (who will be a good player no doubt) is going to get an AA bid over guys like Doherty, Perrelle, Brandofino, Mike Bonitonibus…haha its kinda amusing
2009 AAs
In order:
1 JoJo
2 Ranagan
3 KI
4 Doherty
5 Keough
6 Perrelle
7 Fennessy
8 Stewart
9 Mike B
No way brandofino gets AA as a junior next year… He is a good player but no way should have been on empires or considered for AA…He cant play with the big boys and i think that was seen in the Empire tourny…
1)JOJO (obviously! best player in NY)
2)Ranagan (goin to hop, AA, enough said..)
3)Interlicchio (heard from very reliable source he is in top 5 recruits in the country and has done remarkable things at yhs in only 2yrs…)
4)Doherty (awesome player, snubbed in emps, already an AA and is a beast!)
6)Perrelle (going to bing, very quick, smart player)
7)Fennessy (best d-man in sec 1, going to Towson)
8)Mike B (best goalie in the sec for the best team in the sec)
..Yes, believe it or not Town gets 4…
I do not want this at all to reflect back to this season. The Coaches and kids picked were fabulous!!
But next season whoever the AA’s are, I believe the fairest thing to do is that AA’s (who are eligible) should automatically make the final 20 of the Empire Team (and must participate in the try-outs). If one of them has a “bad” try-out, well then that player may not be on the first line, etc.
My common sense tells me that it should be a no brainer to ABSOLUTELY ASSUME that if you’re good enough, no, make that OUTSTANDING enough to make AA then you make the top 20 Empire team. Making AA but not making the top 20 Empire team selections cheapens the honor and is embarrassing to the boy, the selectors, and Section 1.
Here’s another thought for consideration: If Section 1 does not have 9 kids REALLY WORTHY of the designation, then dont pick 9! If an AA is totally outplayed consistently in the tryouts then that kid should not have been an AA in the first place—but too late selectors, wrong choice!!
Playdog lax …
I like your list but you need to add another AA.
Don’t be like the coaches who didn’t even know we get nine AAs until a month after they picked eight.
Playdog
Did you get cut? Or are you a cheerleader from Ytown. Brandofino played his role in Empires and had a good Albany tourney .Was part of a medal winning team with all good players.Did you ever play Empires then stop with the negative comments. He has a medal you have nothing but your keyboard.Look for all emp players to have great years next year.
For 2 goalies{assuming Mike b get it} for haggerty to get it he will need to play out of his mind next season and have south do at least better than half decent. Not sure what there talent pool is like down in rockland but I know its not great. All i heard about south is Haggerty sort of carrys them
Joe i hope you enjoy your vacation, you deserve it. Just so everyone knows its Keough not Keo keoh etc and hes the best D man in section one.
lax212, just speakin the truth brotha , wanna be a top dog, gotta be able to play with them… look at the competition those above have played and then you will begin to understand where im coming from…its a little different scoring a bynch of goals vs some of the weaker teams in sec 1. than stading out vs chaminade, st. anthonys, john jay, state quarters, state semis…
AA
Marasco

Ranagen
Interliccio
Keio

john ranagan, #35 rising senior in the country
as ranked by inside lacrosse magazine….not bad
If they don’t give AA to haggerty that is a absolute shame
the best goalie not the best team.I saw his empire preformance their is no doubt.
leiberman
brandofino
marasco
ranagan
Synan
daniello
bunnititamis
Hag sauce
I don’t know if haggerty will get it (hope it’s not because of the team he plays on} but he definitely
deserves to be on any AA list he’s that good.
Laxballs,
Sorry no chance lieberman gets AA this year, not with ranagan KI and bonatanibus on the team. He should have to establish himself more to get in talks for AA. Same goes for daniello at Jay. No chance
AA’s
RENAGAN
PERELLE
KEOUGH
DOHERTY
MARASCO
HAGGERTY
FENNESSY
MIKE B
STEWART
Only my picks but all have a great shot
my guess that we could very well see two goalies make it this year now that we have nine selections.
it should make for an interesting june.
It depends, I mean I have never seen haggarty play during the season so I dont have anything to base it off of. The only time I saw him play was in empires and ripped it up
thats a good point valley,
all of this is speculation. we have no idea if a kid will fufill expectations or if a kid will surpass expectations and make it on here. and God fordbid one of them gets hurt. that would raise an interesting point. can jojo or ranagan still make all-american with only half a season? but lets hope that we don’t have to find out for the sake of westchester lacrosse.
Just posted on insidelacrosse that Yorktown’s Kevin Interlicchio is ranked number 12 for rising juniors in the entire country, pretty impressive, congrats!
Casual Observer,
Nice Jinx!!
slacrosse
AA has to want to play on the team and not because of local pressure. Wanted Ct Hurricanes over empires. Good for him, shouldn’t of wasted his time “trying out” for emps.
blindside,
Yeah of course if an AA doesn’t want to play on Empires, then of course he’s not automatically put on the team as I suggested (yeah dont be forced or “pressured” to try out in the first place if you dont want to play).
wait if they only picked 8 AA when they were suppose to pick nine last season are they going to pick another one????
