Here is a rundown of some upcoming lax camps. Feel free to post info on others.

• The White Plains Lacrosse Camp will feature two one-week sessions. For more, visit www.whpslax.com.

• Mike, Matt and Chris Bocklet, who all starred at John Jay, will be among the instructors at Moonlight Lacrosse with the Bocklet Brothers. Sessions, for boys entering grades 4-8, will be on the following Mondays from 8 to 9:30 p.m.: June 30, July 7, July 14 and July 21. • Head, Heart, Hustle Lacrosse, run by Joe Ceglia, Brian Dooley and Lauren Rywak, is still accepting enrollment for summer boys and girls camps. Visit www.hhhlax.com.

• Registration for the fifth annual JMen Lacrosse Camp is continuing. The camp will be held at the John Jay from 9 a.m. till noon July 14-18 (9 a.m.-noon). John Jay coach Nick Savastano is the camp director.

• Former Horace Greeley and University of Virginia star Ned Bowen’s All Out Lacrosse Camp will be coming to Greeley July 7-10. For more, visit www.nedbowenlacrossecamp.com.

    The J men lax camp is the best teaching camp in the area. My son learned so much from the JJ staff it was great.

    It's probably too late to suggest this, but for my money the West Point Lacrosse Camp is out of this world. I went a long time ago and it was an incredible experience. It's totally scrimmage oriented, with campers assigned to teams all week. Tremendous. Plus there's plenty of non-lax things to do on that incredible campus. Look into it …

  6. Dip N Dunk Lacrosse

    Joe,

    Dip N Dunk Lacrosse Camp will feature three 1 week sessions held at Tappan Zee and North Rockland. 1 st week, July 7- 11, every camper goes home with a brine answer complete stick. In addition, Manhattan Lacrosse Coach, Coach Mac will be in attendance. All staff has Division 1 playing and/or coaching experience.

  8. Apex Lacrosse Camps

    Apex Lacrosse Camps directed by local lacrosse product and coach Brian Kuczma, will run August 4-8 from 9-3 at the Route 52 sports complex in East Fishkill. This is for boys ages 8-16. For more information go to the website www.apexlacrosse.net

Joe Lombardi Joe Lombardi did not become familiar with lacrosse until after graduating from both Irvington High School and the University of Dayton Ñ neither of which offered the sport. But it didn't take him long to take a liking to lacrosse since it combines elements of several of his favorite sports: basketball, hockey and football. In addition to serving as local sports editor of The Journal News and LoHud.com, he also writes the weekly "Catching up with...":http://lohud.com/catchingup feature that appears on Tuesdays. Joe can also be seen each Monday during the school year on RNN's "NewsCenter Now," providing a look at the week ahead in local sports, as well as on "Varsity Central Extra," which appears on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.
