Just spoke to Suffern’s Dave McNally. Approximately 325 players tried out for the Empire team and it’s now down to about 125.
The tryout process continues on Monday at Horace Greeley. Registration is from 3:15-4 p.m. and tryouts will go from approximately 4:30-6 p.m.
McNally expects to make cuts down to between 45-60 after the next tryout session.

You think anyone from rockland stands a chance?
Only 2 faces I knew from rockland were Shane warner and Luke Haggarty. Only reason I know them though is because of westrock. Haggarty has a good shot he played well but It will be hard for shane due to the stacked offensive power this year on attack/middie.
two rockland kids would have been returning but due to the change in the cut off date they cant
Do you think Andrew Lohrfink who just finished up his senior year at Byram Hills will make it?
No because he’s a senior.
Seniors can make it if they meet the new age requirements.
Any word on thunder storms and what they’re going to do today?
Just got word from Dave McNally, ESG coach, that today’s tryout at Horace Greeley has been postponed because of the threat of thunderstorms.
Oh yeah forgot about that.
