9 of 13 Massena seniors go on field trip trip vs playing in play-off game against Carthage?????

Something is VERY VERY "BROKEN" at Massena and needs to be fixed???

  3. Joe Lombardi

Ricky – Thanks for the link. You are our unofficial correspondent for Central/Western NY lax. I hope you wear that title proudly.

  4. cookie-crunch

    Joe-

Is there a newspaper or blog for the Long Island area that follows their high school lacrosse teams like you guys do for section 1? I'd love to get to know those teams before they battle our teams on Thursday.

    c-c:
Our friends at Newsday started a lax blog this spring.
You can check it out here.

    Joe
What will happen with the schedule if it's 103 degrees at 3:30 tomorrow, and/or the thunderstorms hit before the end of the Rye game?

  7. Joe Lombardi

rye ma – Unless any of the school districts involved cancel after-school activities, including sports, the games will be played.

As for thunderstorms or lightning, there is a mandatory 30-minute delay at the first sight or sound of either. If the thunderstorms are prolonged and one or more games postponed, the game or games would have to be played or resumed Wednesday, which is not ideal of course because the state semis are on Thursday.

  8. no one

yorktown is letting all the schools out early today due to the heat. how does that affect the games?

  9. mike

All lax games postponed to Wed. Just spoke to YHS athletic secretary.

  10. joey mac

About the author
Joe Lombardi Joe Lombardi did not become familiar with lacrosse until after graduating from both Irvington High School and the University of Dayton Ñ neither of which offered the sport. But it didn't take him long to take a liking to lacrosse since it combines elements of several of his favorite sports: basketball, hockey and football. In addition to serving as local sports editor of The Journal News and LoHud.com, he also writes the weekly "Catching up with...":http://lohud.com/catchingup feature that appears on Tuesdays. Joe can also be seen each Monday during the school year on RNN's "NewsCenter Now," providing a look at the week ahead in local sports, as well as on "Varsity Central Extra," which appears on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.
