    joe what about all county?

  2. Joe Lombardi

Rockland players are on the all-section team.

Do you mean The Journal News all-Rockland County team?

  3. rocklandddd

    yes

  4. Joe Lombardi

Rockland – That will be out early next month.

  5. Re-Lax

Nice going TOWN, Nice to see a few of the defensive playes chosen who have taken some heat earlier in the year. Just goes to show what hard work and didication can do. Great team effort this year boys, keep up the good work

  6. Section I fan

Coach of the year, well deserved.

  7. Vin D'Andraia

Congrats to everyone, from every town, but I know they would all trade any awards for a State title, right?

  8. Vin D'Andraia

Yes Brian, Congrats on Coach of the year. You're doing a phenomenal job! Good luck the rest of the way!

  9. Rye

It says Rye has seven, but only lists six…

  10. Count Again

    I count seven for Rye.

  11. Rye Person

Your right Rye, they forgot Dylan Kindler

  12. Rye Person

    Whoops guess hte fixed it

  13. ....

how did byram only get 2 and andrew lohrfink not getting all section is a huge mistake?

  14. jgold

Breaking news: Bocklet made the All-Section team.

  15. Tom Ato

quiry: how many times have bocklets made all-section?

  16. Slacrosse

    ....

Prb 1st time I've agreed with any of your blogs but was surprised to see Lofrink and Green not on the list.

As for Rye, the 7 kids are great choices but also expected to see AT LEAST one chosen from Santangelo (A), Fullmer (M), McCormack (face-off, Middie), McEllwee (D), O'Callaghan (M)

  17. Rye High Guy

That really is ridiculous that Byram only got 2 and we got 7. Our 7 deserve it but Byram definitely deserves more than just 2. That kkid 17, i think his name is andrew lorfink dfinitely should have gotten it. He runs that teams entire offense, and i hate to say it but he made us look silly a few times in both of our matchups against him and byram.

  18. Byram Fan 1

    Rye High-
I agree. Byrams lack of all-section players was rediculous considering the amount of talent they have on their team, as well as the fact that they were sectional finalists. As for #17 Andrew Lohrfink, although he somehow did not recieve all- section, he will be trying out for the ESG team because he is young enough as a senior

  19. laxx77777

byram isnt the only school that was lacking a few picks. Yorktown gets 10 guys, so youre telling me that there 10th man is better than the 2nd or 3rd guy on some other teams? I dont think so.

  20. stevo

The 10th guy on town is better…sorry…their 10th guy is a guy like brunelle, who should make ESGs this year, or Casey, has a shot at alternate for ESG this year….so it may sound cocky or overconfident, but it is true…Jay has similar depth as a team..their backup goalie would start gor 85% or teams….that is part of what makes those teams so strong, depth…

  21. Slacrosse

    Byram Fan 1

One type of "support" that Lorfink and the SERIOUS BH fans DONT need is the ridiculous and incredibly embarrassing bad joke comment made under the "Rye High Guy" impersonation. A joke but still one of the most, if not THE most "bush" comments, jokes made on this blog.

Unless you're the same as——e using another name you cant want to associate with it can you?

  22. Jim

Rye High Guy- What are you talking about #17 on byram did not make anyone look silly. In the playoff game he had a Rye man down goal, and 2 assists that could have easily been prevented. Tell me, or post some footage where he made anyone look "silly"...i would really like to see. He is a great player and i also believe he deserves all setions, but he didnt make anyone look silly

  23. laxin

it is true that yorktowns 10th man is better than the 2nd or 3rd guy on a lot of other teams

  24. laxx77777

I wasnt saying that about EVERY team…what im saying is that there are a FEW teams who got maybe one or two players on all-sect…and on those few teams the 3rd player is better than y'towns 10th.

  25. eagleeye

what about honey from Brewster for coach of the year he took a 4-14 team last year to the sectional finals with a 15-6 record this year..

  26. Rye High Guy

haha Slacrosse and Jim- i actually am a Rye grad. and I attended the previous Rye game where #17 was the only player on byrum that did any damage for them. And yes Jim, there is no doubt in my mind that he made some players look silly considering i saw him go coast to coast twice. i didnt get to see the finals game so im not really to credible when it comes to that. i had a friend that wen to the game and he said that Marchesani shut him down for the most part. i was not trying to start an argument, i was just making an observation.
PS- in the future Slacrosse don't be that annoying blogging parent that thinks they are always correct.

  27. Alumni

Look at some of the names on this list. All Section player's, what a joke.

  28. what about

Are the Iona high scoring guys not in the section?
And why then are their names in the standing and leader columns?

  29. The Internet

    Joe,

what coaching changes will there be going into next year?

  30. Joe Lombardi

Nothing yet to report on that front. We are monitoring it though.

  31. abagle

17 did beat #42 on rye a couple times though, bad

  32. Miller

Is there such a thing as all league honorable mention? If so when will that list come out

  33. rockrewind

joe when will this all-section article be in the newspaper. saw the girls last week

  34. All league

There is an all league honorable mention too. Comes out at the same time. Not sure if anyone reports it though

  35. Jim

abagle- he may have beaten him once…not more that that, and if he beat him it wasnt bad. Even if he did beat him the Rye D was ready with a slide like they always are. He didnt score a goal one on one against 42. And if he did beat 42 than he must not be that good because that must mean he can not finish.

  36. CHSAAlax

    what about-
Joe will have to confirm this, but I believe Iona's guys aren't on this list because they are in the metro league, which is outside of section 1.

  37. Joe Lombardi

CHSAAlax – That's correct. Here is the link for CHSAA, metro honorees.

In response to another question, we hope to run both all-section and CHSAA in the new few days in the paper too.

  38. Byram

Jim your such a joke! 17 had 2 assists one coming off of a dodge on 42.

  39. Jim's Friend

Byram- Heyy dont you make fun of my friend!! 42 did get the better of 17 when they played, but 17 shudda gotten all section…. and hey, 42 did get all section so hes the man.

  40. asdf fan

are they going to play a game? when?

  41. Irv

all league honorable mentions are given out by the coaches as they see fit. They can give their players as many as the want..there are not a predetermined amount to be given out as with all-league and all section.

  42. Jim

Byram- How are the playoffs?...I think someone is just a little bitter

  43. Jim's Friend

Jim…... can we please be friends??

  44. Jim

We are friends…thanks for having my back…im gonna be sure to watch the Byram game and see how many times 42 "got beat" then i will post back to let everyone know.

CONGRATS to EVERYONE who made ALL-SECTION

  45. Lax

Joe, or anyone. How does All Section, All league and Honorable Mention All Section work. Is it based on record, strength of schedule, how far your team gets in playoffs, stats, "your coach pushing for his players". What is the biggest determining factor? Do most teams that are seeded in the top 4 in their class for the playoffs usually get at least a few players recognized?

  46. BigBadBear

    hey Joe (or anyone else:

any more details on the exceptional seniors game?

  47. Laxer6

All section is a joke this year 10 players from Town. You telling me that all those 40 goal scorers from other Sec 1 programs arent better than some of those players. You have to be kidding.

  48. laxer26

you guys have no right to complain about getting 2 or 3 guys on the all section team. go undefeated in the section, THEN you have a right to complain. town got 10 and deserved 10. why? undefeated in the section…not an easy feat.

  49. Miller

Does anyone no why the All League and All Section list for the teams in the A league are identical? I thought some kids could make all league, but not all section, thats how it work for the B and C leagues.

  50. Laxer6

jUST BECAUSE YOUR TEAM IS UNDEFEATED DOES NOT MAKE ALL YOUR PLAYERS BETTER. ALL SECTION IS AN INDIVIDUAL AWARD AND SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THE BEST PLAYERS THAT YEAR NOT BECAUSE OF THE TEAMS RECORD .STILL A JOKE

  51. Strength of Schedule

    Laxer6 –

you are taking this too personally. the bottom line is that the coaches look at strength of schedule as a major factor. If you have a 40 goal scorer playing against the lesser teams in the section, he probably wouldn't be a 40 goal scorer playing against the top teams. If you score 40 goals, it means your good, no doubt. But, maybe you would be a 20 or 25 goal scorer in a top league. Still a good player, but maybe not All-Section.

  52. Section 1 Coach

    Laxer6 is ablsolutely right

  53. Section 1 Coach

I meant Strength of Schedule is absolutely right..my bad.
