good run mahopac!
I would like to say to the Putnam Valley PARENTS THEY WERE VERY nice SPORTS WISHING US BYRAM PARENTS WELL. GOOD
SPORTSMANSHIP BY ALL EVEN THE PLAYERS!!! WHAT CLASS!!!
GOOD LUCK BYRAM IN THEIR NEXT GAME.
please beat rye byram!!!
11-0 at half…hahaha comon pville
wheres all pville fans…thats right stfu
sorry to say but when someone chants he's a freshman when someone scores with 1 min left, it isnt exactly classy. When u are wining by three you hold the ball and let the clock run out. Otherwise this was a nice game and good luck to both Rye and Byram in the finals.
BH LAX MOM
Thank you,Thank you very much.
Good Luck in the Championship
Rye will win 13-6
Byram 5-4 in 2OT
Rye had it's subs in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quartes,,,PVill could not stop anything in the 1st half. Walked into a buzzsaw of focused Garnets. Pville fans acted like they were on the verge of the greatest comeback since the 04 Sox..So sorry, did not happen this time. Rye Rules. Game, set, match..Pvill can continue to take bragging rights vs. Bcliff. Pville was a big rival of Rye for many, many years. Did not see any celebrations at Rye, uhmm….Class does show in the end. Rye will handle Byram Hills, and then the fun really begins. Rye played as a great team and great teams win championships.
Joe- When will u have info on all section and all leauge honors?
where are the brewster seniors committed to? does anyone have a list?
I like the Briarcliff fans; you guys really don't have much class. Or maybe it's just a select few of you who make the rest look bad. I don't understand how you cannot just accept the fact that you lost and stop being bitter about it. Pleasantville lost to Rye and we tipped our hats to the Rye program, instead of coming on here and bashing them. It would be appreciated if you wouldn't act like a bunch of sore losers and let it go. Thank you.
a player to watch out for next year is tyler thomas thats all i got to say great season pleasantville
i understand that that wasn't classy but it was a freshman who has hit several pipes this year and has struggled offensively, it was great for him to get his first career goal.
Great job Rye. You guys are a class act. Pville wishes you well in the finals. Pville good job getting to the semi's hopefully the program will continue to get stronger. They do have a solid youth program and a great Coach.
So if I`m reading these blogs correctly, any team that wins by more than one goal are bullies. Any Coach that doesn`t clear his bench before the losing team concedes, is a criminal. Any third or fourth liner that scores in garbage time should be banned. But mostly any Team that beats my sons Team, no matter how poorly my sons team played, are lower forms of life and that`s reflected by their fans.
Some of these young men will go on to have great College careers, some will play for losing teams, some will play Club just for the fun of it, and a lot of them will never touch a Lacrosse stick again. As a group, I think all the parents need to go to a youth Jamboree, (Where they don`t keep score) or maybe a 3/4 grade game and try to get a grip on the spirit of the game, and the enjoyment of watching players that love the game. All the players shake hands after a game, maybe the parents need to also.
Nice game everyone. Good luck everyone. Say it after the game. Say it out loud, it doesn`t hurt.
Finally Zack says Rye will beat BH, so it`s all over there.
Brewlax
As im sure everyone knows Zach Badalucco is going to 'Cuse, Matt King is going to Sacred Heart, and Ethan Meyer and Nick Alfonzetti are both going to the same school
"hey"
Yeah Thomas played tough in the Rye game and a beautiful behind the back goal as well.

Pville and Rye have had some great games over the years and will continue to do so!
Cheers to both programs!
rye ftw
section 1 – We hope to have the all-section team later this week.
hi joe.
as you have all witness brewster has come a long way since the beginning of the season, and i think they may stand a chance for an upset against JJ.
what do you think?
brewlax07 –
Brewster is playing well right now. The team has really gained a lot of confidence as the season has gone on no doubt.
Hope to have my picks for the three finals soon
brewster has definitely come a long way and theyre playing great, but remember youre playing john jay…when the teams met earlier this season jj won by 10 goals…its going to be tough to try and lessen that margin, especially when jj will have playoff time intensity…
i think L/P has a great shot at an upset…that game was 10-9 earlier this season and L/P was beating yorktown with a few minutes left in the fourth quarter…however, town is playing great lacrosse and that win against jj couldnt have hurt their confidence at all…town is at a different level…id take yorktown to get their title.
i think the class with the best shot at an upset is class c…rye has been playing pretty good lacrosse lately but (with this last pville game as an exception) their offensive firepower hasnt been there 100%. byram has a very strong defense and their offense is finally starting to click…the two teams met earlier this season and the score was 11-5…thats a bit misleading to all those who werent at the game…i was in the stands and remember that it was 5-3 rye at halftime and was very manageable…if i were in the stands id stick around for the 8 o clock game…itll be a good one
Slacrosse-
Rye athletics are so dominant everywhere you turn. Football, I think they won hockey, lax, and girls field hockey are off the charts. Clearly the program people want to emulate not just in Class C but all of Westchester. I wish you guys the best against BH
rye lacrosse is awesome
Brewster has all the confidence in the world. I feel that if they played jay and rye later in the season, those would both be wins. Jay should be very worried come thursday when the mighty bears come onto their field
Laxer I doubt Brewster has a good chance after they lost to JJ by 10 earlier in the season, even if they are playing better. I may be wrong though. Look at Loyola-Blakefield, a Gilman team they lost to by 10 in the season they beat by a goal in the MIAA finals less than a month later. I'm still saying JJ 12, Brewster 7 though.
Laxer34,
Nice confidence but think you're on very shaky ground saying that Brewster "WOULD" beat both Rye and JJ if they played later in the season.
Of course your "would" vs JJ will be tested Th. I'll leave it up to JJ fans to answer your blog if they care to.
As for Rye, let's see. Rye won AT Brewster so the next game would be at Rye. That's fair right? Rye is undefeated at home.
Most importantly of course, although Brewster is also playing very well and better then in April you and anyone else following Sect 1 lacrosse even half time know(s) that Rye is playing FAR BETTER then in April.
Brewster is a very good team with good kids and coach. I'd expect the game to be competitive but I'm confident Rye "would" end up winning again.
"W's" are the best boast of all!!
Good luck to you guys and JJ TH nite.
Predictions:
Yorktown 13, Lakeland/Panas 8
John Jay 15, Brewster 11
Rye 10, Byram Hills 5
I know it doesnt mean much when people bring up the who beat who factor but you have to remember Brewster played Yorktown to a one goal loss a couple days later JJ lost to the same Yorktown team by more than 1
Im not saying brewster is going to beat JJ but im not so sure that they have 0 chance. I could very easily see Brewster competing closely with JJ and pull out a win.
I do say Brewster will pull this out in the last few minutes though so Brewster 13-JJ 11
Low 2 High – the games were a few weeks apart, not a few days. just FYI! & it was 3 goals, to be exact!
Can't wait for Thursday – 3 GREAT GAMES!!!!!!!!
JJ – will there be dinner served???? :o)
Joe, you will be there, I trust?
Low 2 high, it's better to predict scores based on head to head matchups rather than scores against common opponents. JJ beat Brewster by 10 and did the same or better against every common opponent except for Yorktown, plus beat Duxbury. Not saying Brewster has no chance just that the scores against Yorktown mean almost nothing if JJ only lost by a couple goals more because JJ definately has the advantage if you're comparing scores against common opponents. Brewster has potential though and if they play well like against Yorktown they have a chance and shouldn't be underestimated by JJ. JJ is the heavy favorite but don't focus on states before you win sectionals boys.
All the pressure is on Jay and Town. They don't win, their seasons are disasters.
If I'm L/P and Brewster I just go out there and treat these games as the house money games they are. Have fun with this. You never know. You're certainly both talented enough and worthy …
'Cuse
You never know…and they are playing with house money…..but…. Brewster doesn't seem to match up well with Jay at all. Town and St. Anthony's (and JD last year) gave Jay's D fits because of their exceptional team passing – especially off the break.
Brewster's attack (at least in the first game) relies on its speed and athleticism. Jay can match that athleticism – and then some. While Jay's D adjusted and stayed with King and Co. in the first game, Brewster had no answer for either Jay's set offense or for Kevin Drew. Don't see either of those things changing.

If you look at the boxscore it was fairly close until Brewster got shut out in the second half. JJ's depth will wear them down.
