Video report: Sectional quarterfinal, Division I college final previews

May
25

The Section 1 quarterfinals are all set for Wednesday.

As is often the case, the No. 5 vs. No. 4 games appear to have the potential to be the most highly contested.

I three out three picks for you folks on this report. Please ask about any games I didn’t predict that you’re interesting in.

Tomorrow, defending national champ Johns Hopkins faces Syracuse for the Division I men’s title in a game featuring four former John Jay players. I also give my thoughts on that as well as the teams’ thrilling semifinal wins yesterday.

Hope you enjoy.

  1. bville

    joe
Do u think bronxville can upset Byram?

  2. Joe Lombardi

bville – That's the one none 4-5 game I think will be the most interesting. Bronxville certainly can. The Broncos have won four of their last five and have some momentum heading into this game. Overall, the Bobcats have played a more difficult schedule, including 12-11 loss to Mahopac.
    I like Byram 10-6.

  3. LAX

    Joe, correction: It's a 3-6 game

  4. lax87

the byram bronxville game is indeed a very interesting one, remember last year that the broncos knocked out the bobcats in double ot in a true battle of a game, this year the bobcats will look for a bit of revenge. this game will depend on which version of each team shows up if the bobcat team that got spanked by suffern and beat by clarkstown south shows up then i would not count out the broncos in the least however if the bobcat team shows up that beat pville and put valley or that joe mentioned lost a heartbreaker to mahopac id be surprised if the broncos won. should be a real intense game nonetheless and i am very excited for it.

  5. laxer4443

What do you think the score of the Harrison John Jay game will be?

  6. LAX

    YAAYYYY DANNNNYYYY!!!!

  7. Laxman18760

    yayy danny

  8. VAS

    Hey laxer4443

    A lot to a little !

  9. Joe Lombardi

LAX – Yes 3 vs. 6. I think you misread what I wrote. I said it's the one non 4 vs. 5 game that I think could be interesting.

Laxer4443 – I think VAS pretty much summed it up as far as Harrison-JJ goes.

  10. hmmm

    hey joe,

    suffern vs horace greeley?

  11. VLax16

    Joe-

How do you think the sectional semi-finals are going to look after Wednesday. Also who has the greatest potential for upset in the upcoming games on Wednesday.

  12. oldeneagle

    Joe –

Fox Lane's goalie is Luke Robinson – not Luke Johnson -

  13. laxxxx3rrrr

Joe anything on White Plains vs Lakeland/Panas on Wednesday?

  14. Joe Lombardi

hmmm – If Suffern had put up some goals, it could be real interesting, but the Mounties' O has struggled at times.
    Greeley 8, Suffern 5

oldeneagles – I think I got too much sun when I said that yesterday. Definitely a slip of the tongue.

laxxx3rrrr – I can see White Plains hanging around for the first half, but then the Rebels should pull away. Let's say 12-5 L/P.
