Boys lacrosse in the Lower Hudson Valley with Joe Lombardi

Your questions answered

I will do my best to answer questions regarding seeing. I was at the seeding meeting tonight.

But first, please read the following carefully. Teams were seeded based on the following criteria.

1. Teams from the top half of Division A (seeded according to record within the division).

  • 2. Teams from the bottom half of Division A (seeded according to record within the division).

3. Teams from Division B (seeded according to record within the division).

4. Teams from Division C (seeded according to record within the division).

  • A team from the bottom half of Division A could jump a team from the top half if it had a better record against common opponents. (No team met this criteria).

Tiebreakers among teams with the same record within the same division: 1) Common opponents; 2) Head-to-head

The divisions are as follows:

Division A top half – John Jay, Rye, Mahopac, Yorktown, Brewster, Greeley, Lakelan/Panas, Somers, Hen Hud.

Division A bottom half – Putnam Valley, Suffern Byram Hills, Mamaroneck, Pleasantville, Scarsdale, Fox LAne, North Rockland, Clarkstown Souh.

Division B – Ardsley, Arlington, White Plains, Haldane, Harrison, Wappingers, North Salem, Ossining, Bronxville, Briarcliff, Nyack, Tappan Zee, Pelham, New Rochelle.

Division C – Edgemont, Croton-Harmon, Clarkstown North, Kennedy, Roosevelt, Eastchester, Pearl River, Sleepy Hollow, Hastings, Peekskill, Nanuet, Irvington, Albertus Magnus.

  4. Best of luck to all teams

no disrespect but that doesn't really help hahaha

  5. laxa

    any thoughts on bronxville edgemont?

  6. jgold

Yes, the winner of (1)Rye-(16)Pearl River will play the winner of (8)North Salem-(9)Haldane.

  7. Best of luck to all teams

    thanks for the clarification—
    laxa—bronxville over edgemont anyday =)

  8. section 1

    come onnnn pearl river upset!

  9. section 1

ID say Bronxville, but if edgemont really show up with some energy, they might be able to run with bronxville for a bit at least. 10-7 Bville maybe?

  10. glax

i meant more along the lines of who does yorktown play after the first round, who does lakeland play, and who does hg play, and who does mahopac play…..just makes it easier to make a visual bracket

  11. Freedom Writer

Is the 2nd round the 28th?

  12. section 1 fan

why are the games wesnesday friday instead of the usual tuesday thursday??

  13. kobe

Rye is going to loose first round. Guaranteed.

  14. section 1

Kobe, im right there with ya. Rye gets upset and doesn't show up like they have before, totally underestimating PR and losing. WOO! go PR!

  15. Joe Lombardi

Jeffrey – The title of this thread caught my eye.
OK – I was wondering, what's the best movie you've seen the last month?

  16. jgold

    Nada

  17. Joe Lombardi

That's what I like to hear. The lax beat has keep you far too busy for that, yes?

  18. WCLax

I'm absolutely thrilled Eastchester made it's first ever sectionals. That being said, how did they end up in the class B playoffs? I think they have a good shot against Harrison so they really have a shot to earn the right to be thrashed by Jay.

Just wondering what was the logic that got them into the Class B playoffs?

  19. Laxwatcher

If you guys want to do a total bracket, draw 16 lines, all first round games have to add up to 17, and the breakdown is ( in order going down the sheet) 1 v 16, 9 v 8, 5 v 12, 13 v 4, 3 v 14, 6 v 11, 7 v 10, 2 v 15. Then just connect the lines, winner of 1-16 plays winner of 9-8 and so on down the page. Hope this helps

  20. Bibi

After 8 years as a lax mom – still donΒ΄t get the leagues and the classes.
We play in league 1 II B – we are a "B" school – like John J and Brewster – who play in an A league.
Is there a list of all B-schools in the section? -

  21. Jeff Gold

Bibi – The list of B schools in the section for boys lacrosse is all the teams that qualified for the playoffs and Peekskill.

The leagues have nothing to do with the class. They are purely based on a teams' perceived ability to compete.

  22. Jeff Gold

WCLax – In order to qualify for the playoffs from Division C, a team must win 40% of its overall, class or league games.

Eastchester, a Class B school, won 50% of its Class B games. It went 1-1 against Peekskill, a Class B school, and those were the only games Eastchester played against Class B competition.

  23. 12rock

well where do we start ….i have been humbled so …i've watched some good Lax … JJ vs town.. some rye some Brewster all and all good games yet it has been a very different type of season wiith the ups and downs … surprises etc.. with that said ..no bold predictions but i do feel Put Valley should have a good run .. they seem to be at a more controlled point then they have been. Easy everyone i did not say they are knocking teams off here just that they did play Rye(the team to beat) to a 1-1- half time score. The best thing about sports is on any given day…so i looked forward to some good clean games and hope for the best

I hope to see a couple of teams in particular again … With that i wish all good luck !
    And Say GO PUT Valley
    Hey mohawk man

  24. pepper

Kobe and section 1- Even if rye doesnt "show up", they will still beat Pearl River. And Rye is going to show up and destroy Pearl River. You just are saying that Rye will lose cuz you will look so great if it happens but the odds of that happening are 1 in a million. Rye is AWESOME

  25. tacoman33

dude, where's the closet Bell to JJ-CR, I gotta hit that up ASAP after the B finals like nobody's business
