Joe – you stated that Mike B was a sophmore in 2006 when he got the technical against Jay but he was actually a freshman….

  2. Joe Lombardi

Good catch – in fact, the first freshman to start in goal for Yorktown since 1969.

    Joe
Last time Town beat Jay was regular season 2005 in ot. Jake the snake with the winner. Town beat Pac in section final at JJ that year. Section final was 2004.

Regular season wins are nice but the object is to win your last game before summer starts. GO TOWN!

murphlax – Yes, 10-9 on April 12, 2005. After losing that game, John Jay started its 47-game win streak vs. Section 1 teams that finally ended with the overtime loss to Rye. Sounds like I may have had a memory lapse on that video but thanks for catching it.

  7. LacrosseInsider

Joe – can you clarify your post above regarding the first round of the Sec 1 tournament, Tuesday is the 20th, not Thursday. Is the game Tuesday the 20th or Thursday the 22? Just want to get it in the calendar! Thanks!

  8. Joe Lombardi

Sure. The seeding meeting is Tuesday. The first round is Thursday the 22nd.

What did evreyone think about the officiating?

I am not for either team but was at the game and thought it favored town. I firmly believe town played better and is a better team after watching the game. However, the goal that looked like it was deflected was not allowed b/c the player was in the crease- didnt look that way. 2 mins later town scored on top of the goalie. won't be around in the m oring to watch but i feel that is an interesting sequence b/c its a 2 goal swing. the heavy set guy made some other fishy calls. Great game thoug :^)
