Sad to say that a year of solid blog posts might be going down the drain…you're putting your legend status in jeopardy.

Simpsons? No. Dungeons and Dragons? No. Amateur rocketry? No.
I'm not really sure what my actual interests are, but you're not even in the ballpark with those three guesses.

Recent HS grad? Maybe…depends on your definition. My diploma says 1999.

I will not pretend to know the mind of JGold, but it's been my experience that people who have never seen "Braveheart" probably were in the chess club, played "Dungeons and Dragons" at some point in their life and dabbled in amateur rocketry.

cookie-crunch – Absolutely I see your point. But again, I don't think any two teams can be equal. Someone has to have an edge — albeit miniscule in some cases. I am finishing up "The Fab Five" and you folks can tell me what you think. I have a pretty thick skin so don't hold back.

I think ties were invented to show equal ability… but I get your point. Unfortunately, I'm gonna guess that you'll still have Rye behind JJ and Town… the only problem with that is that Rye is now closer to JJ and Town then they were this time last week; without ties, there is no way to show that improvement. See what I mean?

'Cuse – Glad you liked the podcast. It was definitely our most lively one yet. I think for the first time we really saw the real Jeff Gold. Like I said, it may have been the chocolate bars. Who knows.
I was also surprised everyone went with JJ, as you could probably tell. It is definitely food for thought for me as I mull over what way I'm going to go. I honestly don't know right now.

First off, you guys do a great job with the podcast. It's lively. It's upbeat. I dig it. I'm sure everyone else loves it and appreciates what you guys do. It's nice that local sports, high school sports, get this kind of love because growing up people my age were lucky to see their name mispelled in agate, let alone have Chris Bocklet and his agent on hand for a live interview.

Getting down to the business at hand, I was a bit surprised no one picked Yorktown. I'm sure as hell picking Yorktown. 1-0 in OT. Lieberman scores the winner. There ya go.

Here's what I think, and it may sound painfully obvious, but I think this is how Yorktown wins this game. Jay runs everything through Bocklet, especially in settled situations. If Town can simply limit him, as in keep him from going 3 and 3, Town will win this game. I'm even suggesting shutting him off, face-guarding him, whatever … Yorktown has defensive players than will do a better job denying him the ball than taking it away. I'm not sold the Jay D can keep the Yorktown offense in check for 48 minutes, so if Yorktown takes away or simply slows down Bocklet for stretches (I know this guy is the best player in the section, so simply slowing him down is all you can really expect to do. He's gonna get his points. No two ways about it), the Town offense should be able to do what it needs to do.

I saw Latino the other night and thought he was the best goalie I'd seen this year. Mike Bontatibus is very good, too, but I think Latino might be just a bit better. The pressure on these two guys will be immense.

Having said all that, I believe the onus is on Yorktown to go out and win this game, because anything less than a complete effort from every Husker that sees the field will not be enough to beat a Jay team, which at least on Saturday, looked like the best team I'd seen in years.

Maybe it was a combination of "JayFest" meets "ridiculously overrated Comeswogue" that led to such a performance, but I'm doubting it.

Actually, I think it was that band that delayed the start of the third quarter that revved Jay up. They were pretty solid.

I'm sure I'm going to take some hits for some of these comments, so fire away ….
