I agree lacrosse123, PV and byram have tougher schedueles, and did not need overtime to beat pleasantville.

Why? They haven't played nearly as tough a schedule as Put Valley or Byram. Granted, they beat PVille today so they should get the 4 seed, but not above Byram or Put Valley.

For the Class C sectionals, would it be fair to predict the following top 5 seedings?

1. Rye
2. Byram Hills
3. Putnam Valley
4. Pleasantville/Briarcliff
5. Pleasantville/Briarcliff

The 4 and 5 seed depend on which team wins the game they play against each other.

FW -

I like North Salem. Let's say 10-6.

As far as Briarcliff goes, there is only one Class C team in the power league that would get an automatic higher seed and that's Rye. The other C teams in the A Division can qualify for sectionals by winning a smaller percentage of games, but there is no seeding advantage.

section 1 -
I believe the first tiebreaker is combined record of opponents, followed by head-to-head. If that's not right and anyone knows for sure, please let us know.

Here are some scores from today:

Haldane 7, Ardsley 6

"Briarcliff 10, Bronxville 7":http://cmsedit.gdn.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080509/SPORTS02/805090471/-1/SPORTS

CHSAA playoffs

Semifinals
Iona Prep 17, St. Francis Prep 7
Fordham Prep 10, Monsignor Farrell 4

Consolation bracket
Stepinac 14, St. Joseph’s by the Sea 4

Ramsupset...
I did pick a much closer game than what happened last year on the "Previews and picks":http://boyslacrosse.lohudblogs.com/2008/05/04/previews-and-picks-week-6/ thread, but a few folks seemed to disagree.
We'll see.
Meanwhile, Harold had an interesting story on North's improvement today in The Journal News and on LoHud.com. "Here's the link.":http://lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080509/SPORTS02/805090407/1110
BTW - I'm sticking by my pick of South 11, North 6.
Thoughts?

If my sources are correct joe then both James Devine and John Beuchli are out for the vikings with injurys. All the Rams need to do is keep Riley at bay and take enough shots on South's amazing goalie Luke Haggerty which will be tough to do but its only 2 people. If Decco is able to penetrate souths crease it might be a game joe. What are your thoughts Joe?
