Mike Malan, center, and Lakeland/Panas will celebrate a win over Yorktown in the Class A sectional title game this season, our own Harold Gutmann predicted on our inaugural ‘Lax to the Max’ podcast. Be sure to weigh in with your thoughts on that prediction — and share some of your own — for this season now that action is getting under way with season-opening games today. If you didn’t listen to our podcast from Tuesday, then you probably don’t like lacrosse. Shame on you.

But it’s not too late. Be sure to check it out here.

J-Lo said John Jay is losing to a Section 1 team. (Boldness scale: 8, Intelligence scale: 2)

Gut said Lakeland/Panas is winning Class A. Boldness scale: 7, Intelligence scale: 4)

I said John Jay will beat Garden City and that GC will specifically regret not playing JJ during the regular season. (Boldness scale: 2, Intelligence scale: 9)

It’s time for you guys to weigh in with your thoughts. First off, vote in our poll and tell us which of those three picks you most agree with. And then, give something bold. … If you really believe it.

I agree with your pick Jeff. I think JJ has a better chance at beating GC in the state semis, where they will almost definately meat, than losing to a section one team. If JJ does lose to a section 1 team it would be Yorktown, but JJ will overcome GC much easier than Yorktown will overcome JJ, but that's just me.

  2. Joe Lombardi

Intelligence scale of 2, Goldie? Interesting. We'll just have to revisit these predictions at the end of the season.
As you folks have probably come to realize already Jeff is a bit of a loose cannon.
I should point out though he had an interesting story on the local ties on the Siena men's lacrosse team in today's college notebook. Here's the link.
